I started out as a kid with CB radio. Now I am a ham operator and scanner listener. I also worked as a radio programmer for a local police dept. so I have been around radios most of my life. Before the SDS 200 came out, I had several other scanners. Some were good scanners but none of them would decode P25 simulcast properly. I tried all the tricks to make it happen. I messed with Hold time, the P25 treashold settings, AGC settings, even directional antennas pointing at a specific tower. Nothing worked. I experimented with a Unication G5 which worked fine but it was not really a full function scanner and they are crazy expensive. Well I went back and forth trying to decide on whether to buy the SDS-200 due to the cost but I finally pulled the trigger on it and ordered one 2 weeks ago from BC Warehouse.. Now that I have been using it for the past couple weeks I have no regrets dropping the money on it. Yes it is expensive but I would rather spend 700 dollars on a rig that works than to spend 400 on one that don't work for my needs. Now that is what I call expensive. I like it so much I am considering the sister rig to the SDS-200 as well. The SDS-100. If you are on the fence about this radio, and you need to decode a local simulcast system don't hesitate. All I can say is It works

Best Scanner Yet!

The BEST DIGITAL SCANNER I've owned yet! Their technology has came a long ways since my first purchase of the Home Patrol unit. This unit hears so much better that there is no comparison of the two. Very pleased with my purchase!

best so far

i have had many scanners ,from crystal used handhelds to the 436.the screen size is fantastic really worth the money

I was hesitant purchasing this radio at first, the guys over at Bearcat told me this is the best Radio they've seen so far. Well.. They aren't wrong this Radio is sweet, I will be purchasing the Handheld soon!

This is the first scanner I've bought since the BCD996XT, My area changed to Digital phase-2 so I had to retire the XT. This scanner is light-years ahead of the XT model I was completely shocked at the sensitivity & performance of this Radio in comparison.

Scanner SDS200

By far the best scanner so far,I have been in it since I was a kid,The person that was talking about reception is right I have no problem you need to know how to place your antenna need to be in this for sometime to let you know the dues and dont’s of everything that you work with,I have no problem at all with this unit it’s clear and precise does everything I have asked of it,And more what a great unit.

SDS200 the Beast

I've been into scanners since the late 70's and this is by far the best release to date. I've seen some complaints on the internet referring issues with reception, well I think most of the people complaining just don't know how to work these radios honestly. This is by far the best scanner on the market you wont be disappointed -JIM
